Abstract


Improperly managed agricultural waste can cause environmental pollution and reduce its economic value. This community service program aimed to improve community knowledge and skills in converting agricultural waste into eco enzyme to support sustainable agriculture. The program was conducted in Batu Winangun Village, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, Indonesia, involving 20 participants using the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach through educational sessions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation using observations, pre-tests, and post-tests. The results showed that all participants completed the training, 95% successfully produced eco enzyme according to the recommended formulation, 90% understood the fermentation process and its applications, and all participants expressed their intention to apply the technology independently. The program effectively enhanced community capacity in managing organic agricultural waste based on circular economy principles, producing value-added products that support sustainable agriculture while reducing the potential for environmental pollution.


ABSTRAK

Limbah pertanian yang belum dikelola secara optimal berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan dan kehilangan nilai ekonomi. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah limbah pertanian menjadi eco enzyme untuk mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Batu Winangun, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu, dengan melibatkan 20 peserta menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) melalui penyuluhan, demonstrasi, praktik, pendampingan, serta evaluasi menggunakan observasi, pre-test, dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan seluruh peserta mengikuti kegiatan hingga selesai, 95% mampu membuat eco enzyme sesuai formulasi, 90% memahami proses fermentasi dan pemanfaatannya, serta seluruh peserta berminat menerapkannya secara mandiri. Pelatihan ini efektif meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam mengelola limbah organik berbasis ekonomi sirkular sehingga menghasilkan produk bernilai tambah yang mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan sekaligus mengurangi potensi pencemaran lingkungan.
