Pengaruh Intercultural Sensitivity Dan Kemampuan Berbahasa Inggris Pada Mahasiswa UPN Veteran Jakarta
Abstract
This study is based on the need for English language learning to be connected to a diverse cultural environment, therefore this study aims to determine the effect between Intercultural Sensitivism on English Language Proficiency in UPN Veteran Jakarta students. With a sample of 200 students taken purposively and data collection using questionnaires and through tests then analyzing data using linear regression tests, it is found that Intercultural Sensitivism affects English Language Ability with an R square value of 82.4%. With the conclusion that intercultural sensitivity plays a role in improving students' English language skills, so developing the quality of intercultural sensitivity is very important for someone who works in an organization where cultures of various countries meet.
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini berlatar belakang tentang perlunya pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dihubungkan dengan lingkungan budaya yang beraneka ragam, oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara Intercultural Sensitivisme terhadap Kemampuan Berbahasa Inggris pada mahasiswa UPN Veteran Jakarta. Dengan sampel sebanyak 200 mahasiswa yang diambil secara purposive dan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan melalui test kemudian analisa data menggunakan uji regresi linier, maka didapat bahwa Intercultural Sensitivisme berpengaruh terhadap Kemampuan Berbahasa Inggris dengan nilai R square sebesar 82,4 %. Dengan kesimpulan bahwa intercultural sensitivity berperan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris mahasiswa, sehingga pengembangan kualitas intercultural sensitivity sangat penting bagi seseorang yang bekerja dalam organisasi tempat pertemuan budaya berbagai negara.
