Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of law as an instrument of modernization in sustainable rural development in Indonesia. The problem faced is the lack of legal protection for rural communities, especially vulnerable groups such as women and children, as well as the inability of existing legal policies to be effectively implemented in the field. This research uses a qualitative method with a juridical sociological approach, collecting data from document analysis of laws and policies related to village development. The results show that the involvement of village communities and the support of NGOs are essential to improve the effectiveness of legal protection and development sustainability. In conclusion, strong legal protection and government and NGO collaboration are needed to create inclusive and sustainable rural development.
