Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

Public Sphere: Journal of Social Politics, Governance, and Law welcomes the submission of original research articles and scholarly works that align with the journal’s focus and scope. All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

1. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be written in clear and concise academic English. Authors are encouraged to ensure grammatical accuracy and readability prior to submission. The manuscript must be formatted using a standard academic structure.

2. Article Structure

The manuscript should be organized as follows:

  • Title (concise and informative)
  • Author(s) name, affiliation, and email address
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (3–5 keywords)
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review
  • Methodology
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References

3. Formatting Requirements

  • Manuscript length: 5,000–8,000 words
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Spacing: single spacing
  • Paper size: A4
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

4. Citation and References

All references must follow a consistent citation style. The journal recommends using APA Style (7th Edition). Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. References should primarily consist of recent and relevant scholarly sources.

5. Originality and Plagiarism

All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. The journal uses similarity detection tools to screen submissions. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding acceptable limits will be rejected.

6. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Proper acknowledgment of sources is required.

7. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors are required to register and follow the submission steps provided on the journal website.

8. Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments before final acceptance.

9. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work but grant the journal the right to publish the article. Further licensing terms may apply according to the journal’s policy.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with Public Sphere: Journal of Social Politics, Governance, and Law agree to the following terms:

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. The work will be simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits others to share, copy, redistribute, and adapt the work for any purpose, even commercially, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source of publication.

Authors are permitted to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal’s published version of the work (e.g., posting it to an institutional repository or publishing it in a book), with acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
