Adapun Focus dan Scope artikel yang diterbitkan oleh JPI adalah hasil laporan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh civitas akademika, lembaga swadaya, lembaga swasta, ataupun organisasi kemasyarakatan. Topik pengabdian mencakup seluruh disiplin keilmuan seperti pendidikan, sosial, pengembangan sumber daya manusia, kesehatan, hukum, teknologi tepat guna, pemberdayaan masyarakat perdesaan, UMKM, pemberdayaan kelompok marginal, dan bidang lainnya yang relevan.
